From Miami To Key West

The Best Beaches to Enjoy In Key West.Key West is a fascinating city located on an island. As a result, you must surely be expecting a lot of amazing beaches here. However, nothing can be further from the truth. There are beaches certainly but they are by no means numerous. There is a spectacular coral barrier reef situated right off the coast of Key West. It is the only one of its kind in the entirety of the North American continent. However, it is also the reason for the lack of beaches in Key West. The reef prevents the sand from reaching the shores of the island to create natural beaches. On the other hand, the coral reef offers excellent opportunities for snorkeling, diving and even fishing. Even though the number of beaches is low, they are rather spectacular. The beaches are perfect for enjoying a languid day under the sun. Alternatively, you can try out the many water sports and activities that take place here. Visiting Key West is not a major problem. There is an airport here. At the same time, it is connected to Miami by means of the Overseas Highway. You can easily get a car or a bus to Key West from Miami. Here are some of the beaches which you should visit during your sojourn in Key West. Sunset Key

Harry Truman isn't the only famous person to have stayed at Key West. The American literary genius Ernest Hemingway also lived and worked at Key West. The Spanish Colonial house he brought in 1931 still stands. He lived in the home till 1940. The house serves as a museum to his life and works now. Hemingway wrote some of his most famous novels here such as "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and "A Farewell to Arms". The home also contains a tropical garden that Hemingway maintained. There is also a saltwater pool which Hemingway claimed that nearly pushed him into bankruptcy. His so-called 'last penny' can still be seen pressed into the pool's concrete. Hemingway was also known for his housecat called Snow White which had six toes. He raised that cat lovingly. The descendants of those housecats can still be found on the property. One Day From Miami To Key West

Marathon is made up of a group of islands. There are primarily two things you will want to do here. The first is, of course, to take in the view of the Seven Mile Bridge. Secondly, you may want to pay a visit to the Dolphin Research Center to meet gentle creatures. You can even take a swim and interact with these mammals up close. As for the Seven Mile Bridge, it will be a sight that you will not want to miss. It is the world's largest segmental bridge after all. Instead of heading over the bridge to the Lower Keys, you may want to take a detour and visit Pigeon Key instead. It was home to the people who built the railway bridge over the Keys. There is a museum about their exploits here. .Big Pine Key
